Mission Reference # QLF2026-36

Fuel cost and emissions reduction, increased efficiency and lifespan for engines

Mission Status: Funding Active

Category: QuantumSEED Entrepreneurship support

Funds Required: 150.000 €

Mission Description

Drive the immediate decarbonization of the existing combustion fleet through a patented technology that reduces emissions and improves energy efficiency without requiring changes to infrastructure or engines.

The project consists of the validation, certification, and industrial scaling of a patented organometallic fuel additive in Spain, designed to integrate directly into commercial and industrial diesel and gasoline fuels.

The technology has demonstrated:

• 65% reduction in total CO₂ and NOx emissions

• 5-20% improvement in fuel energy efficiency

• Application without modification of engines or logistics chains

Currently, the project is in the pre-commercial validation phase, with documented technical tests and real fleet trials.

The immediate objective is to complete an independent technical certification program that allows:

• Updating validation under current regulations

• Guaranteeing technical compatibility with current standards

• Enabling national-scale commercial deployment

The business model is oriented towards collaboration with energy companies, fuel operators, and large industrial fleets, through direct integration schemes in treated volume.

The project represents a bridge solution for energy transition, applicable immediately while the full electrification of transportation develops progressively.

Critical Success Factors

• Independent technical certification

• Validation in real conditions under current regulations

• Strategic integration with energy operator

Strategic Positioning

This project does not compete with electrification or alternative fuels; it acts as a bridge solution for immediate implementation to reduce the carbon intensity of the existing fleet while the structural transition of the energy system develops.

Regulatory Risk and Compliance

The certification program will include compatibility analysis with current regulations, technical evaluation under current standards, and study of European regulatory compliance.

Industrial Scalability (without CAPEX impact)

The formulation uses standard manufacturing processes and does not require complex industrial infrastructures, allowing production to scale progressively according to demand.

Intellectual Protection - Strategic Asset

The technology is protected by a patent registered in Spain (2011), valid until 2031. There is potential for international extension after certified validation.

Strategic Optionality

The project contemplates multiple collaboration scenarios: industrial integration, territorial agreements, licensing by treated volume, or eventual technology acquisition.

ESG Impact

The certifiable reduction in emissions allows measurable impact on ESG indicators and can be integrated into corporate strategies for reducing carbon intensity.

Transparency and Use of Funds

The requested investment will be allocated exclusively to:

   • Independent technical testing program

   • Validation in controlled fleet

   • Regulatory documentation

   • Final enabling report for commercial deployment

Time Horizon

The project foresees commercial enablement in an estimated period of 9 months after the start of the certification program.

Our Team

The project is led by a specialized technical profile and a business profile oriented towards strategic development and commercialization.
